A little graffiti | Queen Creek, AZ Photographer
What says, “I am proud of you!” more than a little graffiti on a home? Yes, this was a home. The other side was obviously the entrance (or maybe the entrance was plastered in addition to the graffiti to REALLY make a point? : )
Studio for sale
Just in case you have been looking… this is for sale in Superior, AZ- right where you want to be, I’m sure! Nevermind that the backyard is close to falling off a little edge-they have filled some holes with mortar, everything should be fine. : )
Shutter speed play
San Tan mountain is a beautiful area if you are into the desert-ish kind of stuff. I have taken my mountain bike out there a few times and hiked around other times. My most recent visit was about a week ago and I was playing around with shutter speed to enhance drama. Who doesn’t like some drama? HA! Isn’t is crazy how much an image can change just by changing the amount of light? It is just another opportunity to create your own unique style (call it drama) and see things your own way. What is even more crazy is what the camera captures compared to what your eye sees. The more awareness/education you have, the more you may see? Have you ever wondered why it takes some people a very long time to get the shot, create the image? They see things… they want to share what they saw and felt and somehow portray the emotion behind the image when it is viewed. You can take a class full of photography students to the same 10 square feet of space and ask them all to take some photos and return. Each student would have a different result. I think life is like this-it is like this. Some of us experience the same thing but so differently. We may have 2 different versions of the same story-we saw it differently, we felt differently but yet experienced the same event. Isn’t that awesome? : ) It doesn’t make your picture/story/feelings right or wrong, it just makes it different from mine. Our differences in art and life make the world go round! Embrace differences, develop and share your style and talents and don’t try to be like another. Be your own unique self! Wow, I should step down now. I was on a roll… : ) (this is all too serious for me)
More from front page | Queen Creek Photography
This is my little one. She is missing the peace sign here. She loves to sneak that in pictures nowadays… She looks so calm and willing to cooperate. Do you have kids that hate to take pictures? I will consider these kids spoiled-lucky them they get somebody wanting to take pictures of them all the time, tons of their life documented. To them, it is a big pain in the neck. Here, we are in the studio but using the natural light from open windows. This front room has been a fabulous place to call “studio”. I can practice any time and I am lucky!
Another favorite with her! I may have already posted this but you can never have too much of smiling fun! These girls were perfect angels for about 5 minutes. Then, the photos were boring and going to the park sounded like a much better idea. Few of them could have continued the photoshoot for hours but my daughter led the negative crowd. She started pouting and got impatient. I am so glad that at least one was a keeper. I have since purchased a 40×30 print for her room. These girls have been dear friends to her since she was about 2 yrs old. In this picture, I again used the window light (as you can see to the far left) and used some flash. ![]()
The Towel | Queen Creek Photography
Yet another favorite on the home page slideshow, this towel picture. It was spring break and there he was wrapped up in a towel to stay warm after a swim in the pool. I love everything about this picture. Am I allowed to say that about something on my site? Mostly, those eyes that seem to be seeing right through the camera… Also, I love that spring break in AZ means swimming in a pool!
Following Directions | Queen Creek Photography
I have lots on my mind. First, I often wonder how I get from place to place because I am ALWAYS looking around for cool spots to take amazing pictures. I get to a stop sign and wonder what I have passed. Dangerous? probably! Second, my sister mentioned that nobody watches my slideshow (I probably should agree since it isn’t loaded fast and isn’t flash and isn’t like my old site) and suggested that I put my favorite pictures here in the blog so they are on record as part of my “gallery”. BTW, do you like this form of gallery? I suppose a gallery and blog may be overkill? So, I am combining them into one. Hopefully someday soon, I will rename the tab to be gallery/blog. Third, this picture is one of my fav’s too. I love the shoes, their smirky smiles (because they were doing everything in their power to run from me and I CAUGHT them) and I LOVE this location. It isn’t for everybody I suppose. It is an old crackly building on Ocotillo. Not much of the building is showing because with these two you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit (what I always tell my kids). I loved the subject which was most important!
That Mouth | Family Photography | Gilbert, AZ
So this isn’t really FAMILY but our goal that day was family pictures. The cutest little boy was sleeping with the cutest little mouth. AND, I am a lover of color, especially green. You put all those wonderful things together and I can’t help myself! Obviously, I like to post pictures that I love, right? This is sneaking to the top of the love list!
The Princess | Queen Creek Photography
She is the only girl (as far as kids in the family) and I love that she can pose like no other. She has got the cutest skirt and jacket (ok, full outfit). Her smile is contagious! Oh to be young and vivacious! I have more of this darling girl-in her outfit for a special birthday. She is full of fashion (or could it be her mother?) and I can only imagine what that is like. I love the dynamics… if you saw last year’s pictures we captured a true family moment. This year (actually end of 2009), one year later they have all grown to be more handsome and beautiful. These are some of my favorites for this family but I really like the last/bottom right. I may need to put that in my studio one of these days!

Part of the Family | Queen Creek Photography
Lily, this cute pug, has been in their family for quite some time! She is getting old and has cute grey whiskers to prove it. We did family pictures in their backyard to make sure that Lily could be part of the action.
Sisters | Gilbert, AZ Photography
What is better than having your best friend also be your sister! I can see the comfort and love between these two and they were simply adorable! I have loved this image since the day it was captured at Power Ranch in Gilbert, AZ. Our goal was family pictures and their family looked beautiful. They were coordinating with black and gray/silver. When the girls twirled in their awesome holiday dresses, I stood back and snapped away. Their dad was such a trooper… he had just returned from a business trip and was ready to roll with family pictures the next day. (maybe he wasn’t happy about it but he was truly a happy camper) Anyhow, family relationships are so fun to capture, each unique. The feelings are always different for me-I know the behind the scenes shots and actions. My favorite images usually tell their story! Sisters…
