The Bike Rack

(again from the front page that you may or may not have seen) I followed Luke all over the park.  He wanted to show me how he could jump and run in those brand new shoes.  He brought me back to my childhood, loving the simple things in life.  We scoped out the ducks, the trees, the rocks and everything in between but my favorite pictures were him playing on this bike rack.  To me, it summarized our time at the park, it says play!  Sometimes I captures his eyes, sometimes I didn’t… sometimes he was still and others not so still.  The best part of this type of photography is that you will never wonder and try to remember what Luke was like at age 4.

Shy? | Queen Creek Photography

Josie is in kindergarten and one would think that when looking at this picture, she is shy.  Ok, maybe having pictures taken brings out her shyness BUT I may beg to differ and let you know that she is one of 4 kids, very cute, full of energy and mostly not shy.  : )  I love her little smile, I love her bright eyes, I love her skin tone.  Studio photography can be hard (well, on me and the subject) due to lack of distractions and the pressure of standing there (or dancing, sitting, playing, etc.) while on a large roll of paper AND big ‘ol lights.  She and her siblings were fun-that is always my favorite part, seeing those true personalities shine!41josie

The Fields are Alive | Family Photography | Queen Creek, AZ

This picture was taken at the Pecan Groves in Queen Creek, AZ.  The world of photographers hangs out there during the busy holiday time.  We went early in the morning, the sun light was beautiful and the kids were great.  I love the way the sun shines in this field.

She is Bored | Queen Creek Photography

This is another favorite of mine.  If you knew her you would know why this is so funny!  She is just in her own world, minding her own business… nevermind the fact that we were in the middle of pictures!  : )  So, I did this picture in my little studio with white seamless backdrop paper.  once everybody starts walking on that paper, it doesn’t seem white anymore but in this picture, you’d never know (unless you are seeing something I can’t).  She wanted to be in pictures just like this.  Her mom brought clothes to change but I always encourage moms to drop off so there is no extra pressure.  AND, sometimes kids behave differently for their parents then they do for me.  Anyhow, I just love what this says about her personality!2brynn

A Front Page Favorite | Queen Creek Photography

This family is not only cute with the pug, Lily, but we got some fun photos of the family jumping on the trampoline.  If you be super patient and wait through my short slideshow on the home page, you will see the photo that I love (and also have hanging in my studio).  There is something about a family laughing and playing together…  But just in case you are lazy, I will post a second jumping picture here too.  : ) I love the texture added by the net, I love the sun, I love the smile!  AND, who doesn’t love real moments (kids being kids) with their kids.  I’m telling you, this is what I adore!

A new kind of plan | Children’s Photography | Queen Creek, AZ

This is Zoe.  Zoe is very independent.  Zoe always has a different plan.  Zoe likes to dance to the beat of her own drum.  Zoe is fun.  Zoe’s plan is her own plan. Zoe picks her clothes.  Zoe wants jewelry.  Zoe likes to be silly.  Zoe likes to flash the peace sign.  Zoe has a hard time standing still.  Zoe is missing a significant tooth.  Zoe runs the show.  Is Zoe familiar?

I couldn’t imagine what could possibly come from this photo session.  Then, I put this together and smiled as I remembered how she liked to do her own thing-no instruction needed/wanted.  Many kids are camera shy and sit until you ask them to talk to you, play a game, etc. but for this show, I sat back and waited to see what would happen next.  Pure entertainment.  : )

The Perfectly Posed | Mesa, AZ Photography

I usually have children running to and fro…  but these guys were experienced.  They have this perfect “huddle” pose.  It was like they had been doing this for years.  We grab a spot, I set up my camera, look up, and they are in position, ready to roll.
