Macro at Volunteer Park (or lack thereof) | Seattle, WA Photography

I can name a million reasons why I want a macro lens.  But here is the deal-my want list is too long.  I wanted to get close but my 50 mm was restricting my access.  I wanted to get details but again my 50 mm said, “NO.”  ARGH!  Why do my lens have to be so limited?  I took these photos as part of a class, more study and awareness of light.  (Have I mentioned that I love to learn?  It may be a disease?!)  This is Volunteer Park in Seattle.  Go visit if you can.  It is just sitting there, sitting for everyone to enjoy.  Washington is very proud of the space it has for parks and so it is my responsibility to appreciate it.  : )  Do you have a macro lens?  Do I need one as much as I want one?  ‘Cause you know, there is a difference between wants and needs…flowers1

Missing Teeth | Bellevue, WA Photographer

I love when 6-9 year old (ish) kids smile-there is bound to be some missing teeth!  It is adorable (ok, not always but here it is!)  You can see that she is a little timid- but not for long.  Not only is she proud of those missing teeth, she is creatively wearing Mrs. Potato Head’s earrings. What happened to my imagination?  Just curious…

Cuddles | Queen Creek, AZ Photographer

It is rare that this little boy sits still.  He has appeared several times in this place, mostly in the shape of weapons and activities!  : )  But when mommy wants to cuddle, he usually agrees.  fam2

The Bike Rack

(again from the front page that you may or may not have seen) I followed Luke all over the park.  He wanted to show me how he could jump and run in those brand new shoes.  He brought me back to my childhood, loving the simple things in life.  We scoped out the ducks, the trees, the rocks and everything in between but my favorite pictures were him playing on this bike rack.  To me, it summarized our time at the park, it says play!  Sometimes I captures his eyes, sometimes I didn’t… sometimes he was still and others not so still.  The best part of this type of photography is that you will never wonder and try to remember what Luke was like at age 4.
